天然由来の皮膚用蚊よけ製品の多くは分離してしまい、エッセンシャルオイルが表面に浮いてしまうと効果が低下します。アルコールやエッセンシャルオイルの含有量が多い製品もあり、肌への刺激が強かったり、皮膚のバイオームを乱したりする恐れがあります。
この独自処方の蚊よけ剤は、天然酵素乳化剤を配合し、虫よけ成分を均一に分散させ、効果を高めます。シトロネラ、ゼラニウム、ティーツリー、レモングラスのエッセンシャルオイルを3%配合。長時間持続し、化学薬品不使用で肌に優しい蚊よけです。
シトロネラ オイルは、1948 年以来、身体と髪用の植物ベースの無毒の生化学的ブヨと蚊の忌避剤として EPA に登録されています。
植物性グリセリンは虫よけ効果のあるエッセンシャルオイルを粉末状にし、蒸発を防ぎ、空気中の水分を肌に引き寄せ続けます。肌が潤っていると、成分がより効果的に働きます。

Buzz Kill was created out of necessity. Hiking through the dense jungles of Costa Rica, we needed protection from mosquitoes — but we refused to coat our skin in DEET and synthetic chemicals. So we built our own formula.
Using witch hazel hydrosol as the base (not alcohol, which dries skin and evaporates fast), we layered in essential oils with proven repellent properties: citronella, lemongrass, peppermint, and geranium rose.
